We offer programs of study in the speech, language, and hearing sciences. This includes clinical education in speech and language pathology and audiology. There are also opportunities related to neuroscience and cognitive science.
Students can pursue graduate degrees in areas such as speech and language pathology, diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology, speech and language acquisition, augmentative and alternative communication, speech and hearing physiology, psychoacoustics, bioacoustics, and neuroscience. As professionals and behavioral scientists, students study the receptive and productive aspects of normal and pathological communication.
Our clinical education programs in speech pathology and audiology lead to professional credentials, the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Both our Master's program in speech-language pathology and our Au.D. programs are fully accredited.

In-state tuition for MA-SLP and AuD students
The MA-SLP and AuD programs at the University of Colorado at Boulder are in a new program that will allow in-state tuition if a student is a resident of one of 15 western states.
Qualifying students are residents of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming. Students who come from one of these states and are accepted into either the MA-SLP or AuD program are eligible for in-state tuition when they begin their studies.
Information about this program - Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) can be found at http://wrgp.wiche.edu/
Students should check WICHE/WRGP on their application but they can also asked to be reclassified when they enter the program.
The CU-Boulder MA-SLP and AuD programs are the only clinical programs in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences that are accepted as WICHE/WRGP programs.
For more information, contact Brenda Schick, Coordinator of Graduate Studies.

CAA (Council of Academic Accreditation) Statistics
Praxis Examination:
All graduate students complete the Praxis exam prior to graduation. The department reports 100% successful completion for both Au.D. and M.A.-SLP programs during the current CAA acreditation period.
Employment:
The department works with graduating students seeking employment during the fellowship year in speech-language pathology and can report 100% successful outcomes for graduating M.A.-SLP candidates within three months of graduation both in Colorado and across the country.
Graduates who have succesfully completed their clinical doctorate degree (Au.D.) during the current accreditation period (2008-09) are currently employed. The majority of Au.D. students completing their clinical doctorate are continuing in the program to complete their Ph.D. in Audiology at this time.
Graduation Rates:
Completion of the program within the advertized time period is averaged at 97% for both programs.
