Carly Schimmel PhD student The Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) promotes research by students in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In support of this goal, Plural Publishing funded two scholarship awards to support graduate student research, one at the PhD level and one at the AuD/MA level. Carly Schimmel, a PhD student in our department has received the Plural Publishing Scholarship. Carly's research involves using the digits in noise test as a online hearing assessment in comparison with QuickSIN. The goal of her research is to evaluate internet-based speech perception in noise measures compared to the clinical standards used, such as pure tone audiometry and QuickSIN. This scholarship will allow her to write-up, present and publish this data.

The entire SLHS department congratulate Carly on this wonderful accomplishment.
